Learning Services & Assessment Librarian

EXPERIENCE

Designs and implements the library’s information literacy instruction program through Juniata College’s new General Education Program, First-Year Experience Program, and individual department programs across campus. In collaboration with the Access Services Librarian, designs and manages the library’s student employee program to foster professional development and personal growth.

 

Develops and maintains assessment tools to support the design of internal and external reports through Qualtrics, Springshare products, and Google Analytics. Participates in strategic outreach efforts to promote library services and to promote access to all students through: programming, campus-wide and consortia-wide partnerships, and social media. Developing expertise and programming surrounding Open Educational Resources (OERs).

 

Involved in the evaluation and acquisition of innovative technologies & services in the library.

Information Service Librarian

The Citadel, Charleston SC

2016-2018

Assistant Professor; provided specialized information literacy sessions for the science & mathematics departments at the college. Organized large sections of incoming freshmen, researched & presented on innovative pedagogies, explored and evaluated new technologies for library instruction, and established assessment ground work for evaluating embedded and one-shot instruction. Involved in instructional assessment and faculty/staff training. Library representative on the Citadel Online Taskforce and Citadel Online Committee which is tasked with establishing the college’s online course offerings and programs.

Research & Instruction Librarian

Delivered curriculum-driven information literacy instruction in the changing technological environment of academia. Provided reference services both face-to-face and online; delivered course-related instruction on and off campus; developed research guides and instructional materials; collaborated with academic departments as a library liaison; and conducted research consultations and designed/created pedagogically rich tools and experiences that enhanced critical thinking, promoted information literacy, and fostered lifelong learning.

Information Literacy & Technology Librarian

Librarian liaison. Duties included information literacy instruction, collaboration with course instructors, assignment creation & grading, mentorship, and research consultations. Also provided support as an administrator for various library systems such as Millennium, ILLiad, and Springshare Apps. Generated statistics and maintained the library website.
