Please explore this small sample of presentations, documents, and other materials that highlight my skill, interests, and creativity.

Embedded Information Literacy

Starting in the Summer of 2019, I conducted a series of Information Literacy workshops at Juniata College to introduce and educate instructors on the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy. These presentations were built around focused campus initiatives such as the re-design of the college's general education program and the 2-year effort to assess information literacy in all academic programs.

Objectives/Outcomes

  • Inform campus instructors and administrators about the ACRL Framework

  • Provide concrete examples on how to incorporate the ACRL Frames in a meaningful way at the project, course, and department level

  • Increase instructor confidence in teaching students information literacy concepts and skills in their subject/field

Physics Information Literacy Project (Physics Seminar, Juniata College)

After attending one of my Information Literacy workshops, the head of the Physics department reached out to request an information literacy project that challenges students to question the resources they use for research. Together, we created the following assignment: a 6-week project to research various perspectives on a single topic. Each student was expected to lead a discussion on their individual research before combining their resources to create a new output: a podcast, poster, presentation, etc.

Objectives/Outcomes

  • Students will be aware of different types of authority

  • Students will examine the impact of certain information based on delivery method

  • Students will learn that there is more than one way to find information on a topic

  • Students will learn that they are in an ongoing scholarly conversation on their research topic

OER Presentation to Juniata Faculty (SoTL Presentation)

During Fall 2018, I was invited to present on OERs and Affordable Educational materials during a SoTL (Scholarship of Teaching and Learning) Brownbag Lunch. With my library director, we engaged with a group of instructors who were aware of and exposed to various levels of OER engagement.

Objectives/Outcomes

  • Define OERs

  • Identifying the growing need for Affordable Educational Resources

  • Providing attendees with actionable steps to address the educational and financial needs of our students

  • Engage attendees in conversation about their textbook needs and observations

Handouts & Marketing Materials

Linked below is a sample of various marketing materials I've created and published. There are a wide variety of examples, including: OER displays, event flyers, liaison menus, handouts, and teaching materials

Objectives/Outcomes

  • To promote library services across campus

  • To educate the community about the library

  • To support and create diverse and inclusive programming

Student Employee Handbook
Juniata College, Huntingdon PA

From 2018-2019, I worked with a fellow Librarian at Juniata College to update the existing student employee program. Our first step was to revisit the student employee job description and to create a reliable student employee handbook.

Objectives/Outcomes

  • Rejuvenate the existing student employee program to incorporate more professional development and mentoring opportunities for students

Library Annual Report
The Citadel, Charleston SC

While at The Citadel, I chaired the Assessment Team within the library. As a team, we organized and created an annual report and infographic to share with our campus partners.

Objectives/Outcomes

  • To highlight the library's achievements

  • To educate the campus on the library's efforts for the academic year
